Speech with Ms. Susan Chung

Hello! My name is Ms.Chung and I am a speech language specialist. I have been providing speech therapy at Slocum Skewes School since 2019. My career in education spans over 20 years, including roles as a speech therapist and a history teacher in New Jersey. In 2004, I had the privilege of teaching at an international school in Kazakhstan.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a minor in History and a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from William Paterson University. I am certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association with the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), licensed in Speech-Language Pathology in New Jersey, and hold both the New Jersey Department of Education Speech Language Specialist and Teacher of Social Studies Standard Certifications.

I use a multi-sensory approach to meet the needs of diverse learners. My goal is to help students learn, organize, and process material in ways that maximize engagement and outcome. I especially enjoy seeing my students transfer learned skills into the classroom and their daily lives.

During my personal time, I love spending time with family and friends. I enjoy the simplicities of life such as reading, sharing meals, and evening strolls.
