“How can we know who we are and where we are going if we don't know anything about where we have come from and what we have been through, the courage shown, the costs paid, to be where we are?”
― David McCullough, Brave Companions: Portraits in History

I have been teaching in the Ridgefield School District for over 20 years, working with students from 7th through 12th grade across a variety of courses. In recent years, my primary focus has been teaching United States History I and United States History II.

In my classroom, students explore our nation’s history, the responsibilities we share in maintaining its strength, and the ongoing pursuit of its prosperity. We read from the writings of the Founders, study influential individuals who shaped the course of the nation, and examine geography to better understand the vastness of the United States and its place in the world.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading history books, hiking and traveling, cooking on my smoker, and cheering for the Giants every fall weekend.
