Ms. Dabin Yi
4th Grade Teacher (ELA/Social Studies), Slocum Skewes School
Hello! My name is Ms. Yi, and I am excited to be a 4th grade ELA and Social Studies teacher at Slocum Skewes School. This is my 6th year of teaching, and I continue to be inspired every day by the curiosity, creativity, and positive energy my students bring to the classroom.
I earned both my B.A. and M.A. from Rutgers University, and I hold a K–6 Teaching Certificate as well as a Special Education Certificate. My teaching philosophy focuses on fostering a welcoming and engaging learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and motivated to grow as learners and individuals.
Outside of school, I enjoy baking, cooking, and sharing new recipes with family and friends!
Homework will be written on the board each day. Students are responsible for writing their homework down during homeroom.
Usually for ELA, students will either have a Vocab Packet or Spelling Menu due FRIDAY.
Social Studies will depend on the lesson we are learning in class.
If a student is late, absent, or forgets to write down the homework, the assignments will also be posted daily on Google Classroom.
