Christina DePeri - Learning Center Middle School Teacher
Slocum Skewes School
Hello! My name is Christina DePeri. I am a special education teacher The Learning Center at Slocum Skewes School. I presently teach in a self contained classroom for MD students grades 6-8. I have been teaching for 20 years and have held many roles within the classroom. I have experience working with children from kindergarten to 8th grade. I have taught in both private and public school settings.
I earned my B.A. in Education and Psychology from Kean University. I also hold a Teacher of Student with Disabilities certification from William Paterson University. I aim to discover each student's unique skills and abilities so I can make them feel special, valued, and important. My understanding that students learn in different forms and at different paces helps me diversify lessons. I provide each student with individualized instruction in order to meet their specific needs and goals while creating a positive and safe learning community.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching sports, and enjoying the outdoors. I have three children that I love dearly and spend most of my time with. I hope to do some more traveling with them in the coming years.
