Hello! My name is Mr. Burke, and I'm proud to be a social studies teacher here at Ridgefield Memorial High School.  I've been teaching for 27 years, and I remain passionate and dedicated to my students here at Ridgefield.

 

I earned my B.A. from Lebanon Valley College and my M.A. from Long Island University.  As a high school history teacher, I believe that studying the past is essential for understanding the present and shaping the future. My goal is to foster critical thinking, empathy, and a sense of civic responsibility in my students by engaging them with diverse perspectives and historical contexts. I strive to create a classroom environment that encourages inquiry, discussion, and respectful debate, where every student feels valued and heard.

 

Outside the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family... especially coaching and watching my 5 kids play sports.
