Hello, my name is Ms. Oliff.  I teach Enrichment at Bergen Blvd and Quest at Slocum Skewes. I have been a teacher for over 30 years and I could not think of a better job! I truly love what I do!

 

I really enjoy teaching  Enrichment at Bergen Blvd.  This program is a mindfulness program which promotes social and emotional health and well being for our young students. I incorporate meditation, breathwork, yoga and lessons on feelings and emotions.  As well as being a certified elementary school teacher, I am also certified to teach meditation and breathwork. 

 

The Quest program is a very dynamic program that brings me so much joy.  Quest is the Gifted program at Slocum Skewes for grades 3-5. It is a pull out program.  Key qualities of this program include differentiated instruction, student centered approaches, intellectual challenges, engineering and design, higher order thinking and creative  problem solving skills. Students are encouraged to be creative, think "outside the box", and to follow their curiosity through inquiry based learning. Students work individually and collaboratively to pursue their interests and passions. My Quest classes are filled with excitement and fun as the students are continually challenged/inspired to  explore and expand their potential. 

 

I earned my B.A. from New York University and my M.A. from Teachers College, Columbia University .

 

Outside of school,  I am an avid hiker and lover of nature/the outdoors. I adore all animals, especially my 3 cats.
