Amanda LaSpina, 3rd Grade Teacher, Slocum Skewes School

Hello! My name is Ms. LaSpina, I am proud to say that this is my second year teaching 3rd grade at Slocum Skewes. I have a total of five years teaching experience. I graduated summa cum laude from William Paterson University, and hold a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and English Literature. 

In our classroom, I strive to provide a learning environment that balances high expectations with joy and creativity. I believe that when students are challenged and supported, they rise to meet their potential while also developing confidence in themselves as learners. At the same time, I want every child to experience the excitement and fun that comes with discovering new ideas, collaborating with classmates, and celebrating successes along the way. My goal is to cultivate not only academic growth but also a lifelong love of learning. By fostering curiosity, perseverance, and a positive classroom community, I hope each student leaves our class prepared for future challenges and inspired to continue exploring the world around them.
