Welcome to Ms. Peterson's Website!My name is Kara Peterson and I teach 6th Grade English/Language Arts (ELA)! At Slocum-Skewes we use a balanced approach to teaching literacy where we utilize the workshop method to engage our students in reading and writing. By including time for both large and small group instruction, we are able to reach each individual student's greatest potential. My goal is to create and foster a love and appreciation for reading AND writing. The skills my students will obtain are necessary for becoming successful adults. Through projects and assignments, students will be able to creatively express their knowledge.
