Language Arts emphasizes reading, writing, speaking and listening, and critical thinking. Common Core standards drive the curriculum. Reading comprehension, vocabulary acquisition, grammar and writing skills are taught through the anchoring texts, supplemental vocabulary,  Achieve3000.com, and Commonlit.com. Review and reinforcement of skills will be provided as necessary. In preparation for high school, my Language Arts classes strive to produce students who can read, write and think critically.
