Hello!

My name is Ms. Alex Gleason. I am excited about being your child's preschool teacher this '23 - '24 school year. This is my third year at Shaler Academy and my sixth year teaching in a self contained special education classroom. I graduated from William Paterson University with a Bachelors of Arts in Early Childhood Education with an endorsement in Teacher of Students with Disabilities. Teaching is my passion and I developed this passion at an early age in high school.   

In our classroom, we promote independence, creativity, diversity and social skills. In addition, we will help your child thrive in their individualized academic curriculum. During our daily schedule, I use principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to help young individuals on the autism spectrum achieve their goals. I believe every child has the right to an education. I also believe that every child, despite their learning disability, can and will be able to learn. The key is to dig deep into the way a child thinks and ultilize it to help facilitate their learning. I look forward to working with you and your child this year.
