Ms. Charlotte Weeks

Ms. Weeks is a creative and innovative educator with a passion for fostering students' cognitive, social, and emotional growth.  During her tenure in the Ridgefield Public Schools she has had experience teaching students in the general education setting, as well as students requiring more specialized instruction.  She has experience with curriculum development, teacher mentoring, and building a challenging and fun environment for learning that helps all students meet their potential. She has consistently high performance with raising standardized test scores for struggling students.  She developed a district-wide Gifted and Talented program which involved coordinating efforts among school buildings, authoring policy and curricula, implementing identification criteria, and testing students. She was a driving member of the district's Response to Intervention team for the past five years, initiating best practices in identification of student need, progress monitoring, and instruction.  As long-standing chair of Slocum's DEAR Committee, Ms. Weeks works across grade levels and within the community to bring enriching experiences in reading to the students of Slocum Skewes.  Ms. Weeks has an excellent rapport among staff, parents, students, and community. It is her continual professional goal to develop, direct, and implement programs focused on assisting all students to recognize their ability to learn and succeed.
