My name is Julie Pate and I am so looking forward to working with your student as their speech-language specialist. I started at Slocum Skewes in January 2020 and have felt so welcomed by the school community.

As a speech-language specialist, I have worked in both the school setting and in private practice. I have experience with the evaluation and treatment of articulation, language, fluency, and voice disorders, as well as cognitive, social, and augmentative/alterative communication (AAC).

A passion of mine is teaching self-advocacy and independence to my students. In my role as speech-language specialist, I believe it is essential that students can communicate their opinions, thoughts, and ideas.
