What are makerspaces?
Makerspaces are a way to give students a time to create, explore, tinker, and question. Makerspaces are not defined by the space, but by the mindset of incorporating design thinking and collaboration. The Royals Makerspace motto is make something out of nothing.
What can you find in our Makerspace?
Green Screen Royals TV studio, Little Bits, Arduino processors, Hummingbird Robotics kit, Squishy Circuits, building materials, Snap Circuits, art supplies, crafting tools, electronic take apart stations, sewing and much more.
Breakout EDU is the immersive learning games platform. The Breakout EDU kit allows for the facilitation of games where players use teamwork and critical thinking to solve a series of challenging puzzles in order to open the locked box. Games are available for all content areas.
When is the Royals Makerspace Open?
Makerspace is open to all students three days a week during lunch periods- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. The Media Center Makerspace is also available during the week for teachers who want to bring their classes in to explore making as an extension of their curriculum.
