Degrees and Certifications:
Miss Samantha Blair
Welcome parents, guardians, and students! My name is Samantha Blair. I graduated from the University of Scranton with a degree in Early Childhood Education. During my time at the University of Scranton, I was a member of the Women's Crew Team, various clubs, and the Education Honor Society. During my final semester in college, I student taught in a second grade classroom in Scranton, PA. It was in this placement where I immediately fell in love with the second grade!
I am continuing my education and working towards a Master's Degree in Special Education through Rowan University.
I am a HUGE animal lover! I adopted my dog Brooke in November, 2017. She is the light of my life! Brooke is a staple in many classroom assignments and activities. She was a huge hit with my students during at-home learning and would make frequent appearances on Google Meet.
I also love to travel! The beach is one of my favorite places to go. I am a very family-oriented person. My mom and dad both grew up in the area, so Ridgefield is like home to me! I am so excited to start my sixth year at Bergen Boulevard School!
As a teacher of young students, it is my responsibility to provide a foundation in which learning is interactive, hands-on, and exciting in order for students to become lifelong learners. I believe that working outside of the textbook, allowing students to explore, problem solve, and learn from their mistakes is crucial in discovering the interests of each students in order to gear inquiry-based learning. Additionally, it is crucial for the “climate” of my classroom to be conducive for learning. All students are supported academically, physically, and emotionally with respect, dignity, and most importantly, unconditional love.
