• AHERA COMPLIANCE NOTIFICATION

    In accordance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA)- 40 CFR Subpart E, Section 763.84-c, a Three Year Asbestos Management Plan is in place and a Six Month Periodic Asbestos Surveillance was performed at each building owned by the Ridgefield Public Schools during the past year.  Ridgefield Public Schools is required annually to inform all parents, teachers and staff as to the availability of our asbestos management plan as well as any activities which have taken place in the previous year. Ridgefield Public Schools has conducted a reinspection and every 6-months, a walkthrough is conducted to determine whether the condition of the known or assumed asbestos containing building materials (ACBM) has changed and to make recommendations on managing or removing the ACBM. Copies of these inspection reports are maintained in the Main Office of each facility.  AHERA documents can also be obtained by contacting Floro M.
