    Shaler Academy was recently awarded the New Jersey Speech and Hearing Association Program of the Year for 2014.  
     
    According to NJSHA:
     
    This award recognizes an innovative idea or strategy which has been in operation for two or more years, is still ongoing and has demonstrated its effectiveness in one or more of the following areas: (a) providing a unique service to individuals with speech, language , and/or hearing disorders, (b) providing intervention for an underserved population, (c) advancing the practice of speech-language pathology and/or audiology, (d) promoting the profession of speech-language pathology and/or audiology, and (e) increasing public awareness of speech, language, and/or hearing disorders. 
     
    Shaler's unique and innovative programs such as : oral-motor, OPT, feeding , robot training, and collaborative OT/PT/ST were recognized as a unique program that provided to children with communication disorders. Mrs. Walsh, Mr. Yang and Mrs. Drimones received the reward in honor of the school on April 30, 2015 at The Ocean Place Resort in Long Branch, NJ.
