Mrs. Vidrevich

I am very excited to be your child’s math and science teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. I have grown up in Bergen County and have wanted to be a teacher since I was young. In 2009, I graduated with a degree in Elementary and Special Education from Elon University in North Carolina. Preceding this position, I have gained great experience working in both special and general education classrooms within the surrounding area. This is my sixth year teaching 4th grade in the Ridgefield School District, and I am thrilled to be here!
Outside of school I enjoy shopping, traveling, and spending time with my friends and family.

Classroom Philosophy

When students walk into my classroom they will enter a safe and welcoming environment that promotes risk-taking and an overall enthusiasm for learning. Students will find comfort in routine and consistency, and benefit from clearly established procedures, expectations, and consequences. I value the use of positive reinforcement, praise, and teacher encouragement, and I strive to use these preventive and supportive approaches to maintain expectations. By upholding an appreciation and respect of every student, I aim to build positive relationships that will help open the door to learning.

Instruction is planned to challenge yet prevent student frustration, and to give students the confidence and desire to take ownership of their own learning. I put a lot of effort into getting to know my students’ interests, personalities, and strengths/weaknesses, allowing me to mold the curriculum to tie in their individual needs and learning styles. I believe all students are capable of learning, and strive to facilitate the growth and development of each child.
