As an educator, I believe that all children can succeed. I use differentiated instruction in my classroom to meet each child's needs. I also believe that children learn best when a multi-sensory approach is used, such as visual, auditory, and kinesthetic techniques. Cooperative group work is also an approach I utilize in my classroom so that children are provided with opportunities to learn, socialize, and grow with their peers. First graders are growing cognitively, socially, emotionally, and developing fine and gross motor skills as well. An understanding of child development is essential when working with young children. I provide a nurturing environment for my students and hope to positively influence them to care about the world around them.
