Mrs. Gina Antoniewicz
Gina is now in her 19th year of working in the speech pathology field treating children with various speech, language, and feeding disabilities. She began her undergraduate studies at Marymount Manhattan College, taking various courses focusing on speech and language development, anatomy and physiology of the speech mechanism, and speech and language disorders in children and adults. In her final year at Marymount Manhattan College, she completed a supervised clinical practicum in the District 75 New York City public schools. Gina graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Pathology with a minor in Education.
Following completion of her undergraduate degree, Gina began working as a speech therapist in a preschool setting for children with developmental disabilities ranging from mild to moderate in severity. While working as a speech therapist, Gina attended Mercy College for her graduate studies and completed her masters program with honors. Clinical practicum experience included Blythedale Children's Hospital in Valhalla, NY; Northern Riverview Healthcare Center in Haverstraw, NY; and the school clinic at Mercy College.
After graduating from the Mercy College Communication Disorders program, Gina completed her clinical fellowship year (CFY) and gained her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA). Gina continued practicing speech pathology in a center based program in Brooklyn, NY for children aged 0-5 with visual impairments and multiple disabilities ranging from moderate to severe. Gina continues to develop her skills through continuing education courses related to speech and language development as well as feeding and oral motor skills.
This year marks Gina's ninth year in the Ridgefield Public Schools and she comes with a broad clinical background. She believes that all children have the capacity to learn given the proper tools and individualized attention to fit their needs. Gina shares her enthusiasm for speech pathology with the children and families she works with and is excited to further their development!
