Mrs. Theresa Petrov

I serve as the District Library Media Specialist for Ridgefield Public Schools.  My position includes school library media services, educational technology professional development for staff and webmaster for the district.
I began teaching high school English in 2001 and became a school librarian in 2007.  Over my teaching career I have held many extra curricular positions such as: newspaper advisor, academic decathlon co-advisor, debate team advisor and student library council.  One of my favorite activities to run is the middle school Battle of the Books program.
I served 8 years in the New Jersey Army National Guard as a medic and a bandsman- I was a tenor saxophone player. My hobbies include running, hiking and of course reading :)
My educational philosophy can be summed up by these literary quotes:
"It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be."  (J.K. Rowling)
"My advice is, never do tomorrow what you can do today.  Procrastination is the thief of time." (Charles Dickens)
"One's work may be finished some day, but one's education never!" (Alexander Dumas)
"Once you learn to read, you will be forever free." (Frederick Douglass)
