The Mathematics Department prides itself on creating an energetic, motivating, and exciting curriculum for our students. The curriculum is designed to promote both individual and collaborative exploration of both basic and advanced mathematics topics. Students work on a daily basis on the fundamentals of mathematics that will ultimately prepare students for the everyday uses of mathematics that they will need to be successful after graduating from RMHS.
Aside from the standard Algebra I, Geometry and Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus courses, the mathematics department offers three advanced courses: Honors Calculus, AP Calculus, and AP Statistics. The mathematics curriculum exposes students to various forms of technology, such as the graphing calculator and other computer generated mathematics programs and demonstrations. The curriculum is aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards and prepares students to be successul on standardized tests, such as PARCC, PSAT, and SAT.
If you have any questions regarding mathematics courses, please contact your child's teacher or the K-12 STEM Department Chair, Michael Zunick (mzunick@ridgefieldschools.com).
