As the newly appointed Superintendent of the Ridgefield Public Schools, I welcome you to our school district and I cordially invite you to explore our district's web site as an excellent source of information regarding our school and community.
The Ridgefield School District strongly supports quality education and academic achievement as outlined in the New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards. We are extremely proud of the fact that our high school students traditionally score above the 90th percentile in Language Arts and Mathematics on the HSPA, as well as posting a 95 percent plus, graduation rate. Approximately 85% our seniors attend four year colleges, while the other 15 percent available themselves of educational programs found in community and business colleges, or participate in the world of work.
Ridgefield also supports a comprehensive model of education with a wide variety of co-curricular and athletic teams. We are particularly proud of the numerous achievements and awards earned by our Debate Club, Mathematics League, Robotics Team and Academic Decathlon. Our Performing Arts curriculum is heralded as one of the best in Bergen County. In addition, there are over twenty different sports that students can join throughout the school year.
The Ridgefield School District promotes both cultural and academic diversity in our schools. As of this writing, approximately 42 percent of our school system is Asian, while the remaining 58 percent consists of students with Hispanic, European and African-American backgrounds. Our school district is proud to be recognized for its outstanding Magnet School Program, which allows our district to service the needs of special education children in Ridgefield and from over fifty adjoining school districts from around the State .
Ridgefield believes that students enrolled in our public schools will earn a quality education. Our mission is to provide each child with a world class education, by developing their individual potential, academic prowess, and community and civic responsibility.
I urge you to contact me personally, if you have any questions about the Ridgefield Public Schools.
