The members of the Ridgefield educational community view education as a journey more than as a destination. Our goal is to develop within every student who enters our schools' a love for learning, while providing them with opportunities to think critically, analyze and use information effectively, and be an active participant in the learning process. To optimize this goal it is critical that collaboration between home, school and community be encouraged and promoted at every possible opportunity. To this end, I cordially invite you to explore and use our district's web site as a valued source of information regarding our schools and our community.

As we continue to enhance our bonds between home, school and community, I wish to announce that one of our key district goals for the 2012-2013 school year will be to offer our parents an on-line connection known as a Parent Portal that will provide parents with instant access to school data and information concerning any and all children they have attending our schools. Staff training has already begun and will continue this fall. By the spring of 2013 we hope to be fully employing our new system and sharing it with all our parents.

The Ridgefield School District is committed to providing a quality education focused on the academic, physical, social and emotional needs of each and every child under our care. As such, we are proud of the fact that our students traditionally score well on all State and National assessment tests and regularly score higher than other districts of similar size and demographics. We are also proud of the fact that our graduation rate and percent of graduates attending post secondary educational programs rank in the top third of Bergen County. While we are proud of our academic achievements we are committed to the reality that there is always room for improvement. As such, this district engages in ongoing self assessment to strengthen our curricula, upgrade our resources and improve instructional delivery.

As a small K-12 school district Ridgefield supports and maintains a comprehensive model of education that provides our students with a rich variety of programs and activities designed to enhance and enrich the total development of our student population. The Ridgefield school district offers a full array of interscholastic sports and our fine and performing arts curricula is heralded as one of the best in Bergen County. In addition we are proud of programs such as; our Debate Club, Mathematics League, Robotics Team and Academic Decathlon team and the numerous achievement and awards they continue to generate. Whether it's a role in a school play, writing for the school paper or literary magazine, singing in a chorus, playing in the band, working on the yearbook, serving on the student council or wearing our colors on one of our sport teams, opportunities abound for each and every Ridgefield student.
