The mathematics department prides itself on creating an energetic, motivating, and exciting curriculum for our students. The curriculum is designed to promote both individual and collaborative exploration of both basic and advanced mathematics topics. Students work on a daily basis on the fundamentals of mathematics that will ultimately prepare students for the everyday uses of mathematics, as well as the standardized tests such as the HSPA, PSAT, and SAT. Aside from the standard Algebra, Geometry and Algebra II, and Pre-Calculus courses, the curriculum contains two Advanced Placement classes (AP Calculus, and Statistics), a rigorous test preparation and remediation sequence of courses, and a PSAT prep course. Throughout this curriculum, students are introduced to various uses of technology, such as the graphing calculator and other computer generated mathematics programs and demonstrations.
